my 50th Anniversary American Made Fender Stratocaster’s bridge is sitting at about a 30 degree angle. I’m not sure why it’s doing this. Anyone know if this is a problem or how I can fix it
Not a problem, the bridge is just raised off the body surface at the rear to permit raising the pitch by lifting the tremolo arm. Please see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylv=3?qid=20090613113503AAb4hi5 for one method to properly orient the bridge. Let me know if I can help further. Best regards, Dana

1998 Fender ‘57 Strat Reissue USA, DIY Tweed Deluxe. No pedals.
Several amp and guitar settings are demonstrated while running though some vintage rock riffs.
Audio recorded with just the camera microphone – a little distorted, but it captures the sound in the room pretty well.
The guitar has a Callaham vintage bridge assembly and Fralin Vintage Hot pickups (without bridge pickup baseplate). The amp has a couple of mods and an old Jensen P12Q speaker from a Hammond organ.

I had the day off from work due to the snow/rain/apocalypse outside, so what better way to spend it than to play the newly finished project guitar?
This guitar was in one of my older videos with the B-bender installed on it, but I decided to change things up a bit on it. First, the bridge. It’s a HIpshot Trilogy I bought used and made a saddle for out of angle iron. The bridge was somewhat rusty and missing a bunch of its black paint so I decided to wet sand it to make it match the saddle i made. Second, it still has the Gibson 490 humbucker in it, but now it’s mounted in the middle position on a used pickguard from a Squier that I cut up. The pickup cavity holes are covered with plexiglass I found in the trash at work. It’s wired with CTS pots, 500k volume and 250k tone with a .01uf cap. The selector switch engages/disengages the tone control.
I’m playing it through a beat up Squier BP-15 bass practice amp with an 8″ speaker. The pedals are my usual Boss CS-3, Boss OD-3, and Line 6 Verbzilla set to echo. It’s tuned to open E with .015-.052 D’Addarios.

I recently installed a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails SR-1 (humbucker) pickup into the bridge position of my Fender Mexi Stratocaster. I’ve been very pleased with the results, and wanted to do a quick demo of the difference in sound between the neck/middle (single coil) and bridge (humbucker) pickups. In the video, I play a few sequences under both clean and distorted channels through a Marshall practice amp. I noticed after recording this that the B string is annoyingly out of tune, but hopefully it’s not too distracting
Enjoy!

The Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar is a Fender icon. Juicy upgrades include a richer, deeper neck tint for a more elegant and expensive appearance; glossed neck front for improved looks with satin back for smooth playability; and bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing is narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws are resized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle is elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. The Copper Infused Cast Strat Bridge Block (steel with copper – 100% metal) provides increased mass and improved tone. This Strat features the original headstock shape but has staggered machine heads losing one string tree and improving string angle over the nut. Custom staggered pickup magnets improve string-to-string balance and give the G-string better tone. Cosmetics include parchment/black/parchment pickguard and parchment pickup covers, knobs, and tips.
