Is it possible to change the bridge of my squire strat into a Edge-pro bridge or Floyd Rose?

First test of recently reassembled Wesley Acrylic Strat.
Yes I know the neck and middle pickups are not humbuckers I got confused again…..
Modded with Boston hotrail plus humbucker.
Plays well for £58 inc P+P . Replacement bridge Humbucker was £16.5 inc P+P. Need neck laquer but
seeing as I occasionally respray cars It was no prob to give it a few coats of 1
pack Acrylic. Whammy bar not usable as it detunes guitar badly….hey it was under £100 …

Righty strat, lefty bridge?

im considering changing my strat’s bridge to a lefty bridge, and also replacing the nut, to get the hendrix/srv style on my strat. besides having the whammy bar in a different position, will anything else be different on the strat, like for example, the tone? also, i heard hendrix could bend with the strings with the whammy bar and not get them out tune because he played a righty strat left handed. will i get the same effect?
what if just change the bridge will i still get the same tone?
i am a righty, and i want to put a left handed tremolo bridge on my strat. i dont want to change the nut and flip the guitar like hendrix did, i want to change the inotation and play it like srv did. besides having the whammy bar in a different position, what else will be different? pros/cons? what i really want to know though, is if the tone will be improved or if it just sounds the same and it will just end up being a waste of my time. i hope this is clear.

R U a lefty I guess?Do you mean just changing "saddles" on the bridge?….anyways,well you get your whammy and controls on top…unique but actually it is gonna make things more difficult when you want to do quick swails..and your cut-away is gonna suffer so you’ll need big Hendrix paws for ultra high note shredding,to hit top fret…also SRV used right handed straight forward so why change it…but he did use "Cables" for string gauge because of his killer hand strength and that’s a lot of his tone.Nothing is gonna change with the strings staying in tune…maybe unless you can play low E on the bottom and high on top ala Albert King which probably won’t happen. I’d just leave your strat alone bro and go for a super burning Uli Roth,Eric Johnson,…SRV if you want performance. Just my opinion…I’ve tried controls on top/whammy….it’s an eye catcher but your playing suffers.Laters

Help! Strat problem- Bridge height adjustment screw and tremolo….?

1. One of the bridge string height adjustment screws on the D string, on my Squier strat, isn’t holding the saddle up(when i tune up the string, the saddle drops down)… it’s apparently loose….. what can I do?

2. I cant screw the tremolo arm into the bridge…. how can I fix it(if possible)?

Cheap Squier parts strike again. As a temporary fix, you can put that teflon tape that plumbers use on the threads of the tremelo arm and maybe the bridge screw – It sounds like the threads are stripped. You can buy new bridge parts at www.stewmac.com or allparts.com, but you might want to put the money into a Standard Strat.

Are PAF Pro pickups suitable for the bridge of a fat strat?

Depends what kind of sound you want, but sure, if you want the PAF style sound, there’s nothing wrong with putting a PAF Pro pickup in a Strat bridge. Its not going to be so hot that it’ll unbalance the single-coils, for instance, so that’s a good thing.

Electric Guitar Strat Bridge and Floyd Rose?

I noticed on my Fender Strat if you bend two strings or more at a time some of the other strings kinda out of tune a tiny bit and then once I’ve stopped bending it’s back to normal again, happens with my mates Ibanez with a floyd rose, just wondering if this is normal?

Yes it is normal. Since your bridge is on springs which balance the tension of the strings, if you bend a string (increasing the tension) the bridge rocks forward, which makes the other strings go flat. Bending a string is like putting a tiny amount of pressure on the whammy bar basically. This is totally normal, and happens on any tremolo-equipped guitar. Some people set their tremolo flush with the top of the guitar, and increase spring tension to allow them to keep this from happening, others use various spring devices to reduce it.

Kellen, it depends on what parts were lost; the bridge assembly consists of a bridge plate and fulcrum screws, saddles with associated springs and screws, tremolo bar and retention spring, bridge block and screws, and the counterweight springs, claw, and screws. There are many on-line sources for these individual items, but it may be more cost-effective to purchase an entire new bridge assembly. Is it possible to change the bridge of a stratocaster guitar to a floyd rose?

The thing is I really want a whammy-locking floyd rose bridge on my Fender Squire Stratoscaster. Is it possible to replace the ordinary strat bridge with a floyd rose? I think it is possible because I think Eddie Van Halen did it with his guitar but I’m not entirely sure.

Yes you can do that. It will cost about $150-$300 for the tremolo unit itself, and maybe $50 for labor.
