what’s the difference between fender texas single-coil pickup and 50’s vintage single-coil pickup.
The ’50’s strat had a hand wound pick up and a different magnet which I think was more powerful.

The title says it all. Price limit about £60.
You Probaly Won’t Be Able To Find A Humbucker For That Budget
So You Should Save More.
But A Good Single Coil Pickup For Heavy Metal Is Seymour Duncan SJB-3n QP Jazz Neck Pickup.
Here’s The Link To One On Nevada Music

It’s £55.95

Ill do whatever it takes and i hope its cheap. I have a Fender Strat and i want to modify it so that it will have a tone knob for each pickup. Ill solder, drill whatever just- is it possible???
Of course. You’d have to do quite a bit of work, though.
You’d have to cut out parts of the body to put them on, drill through the pickguard to put them in,wire and solder…

Yes, if u wire it correctly. It will alter the tone and look of ur Strat, but that’s presumably what u want. Hope this helps.

I have a black fender stratocaster, but all of my friends have exact same guitar, so I am going to put fender vintage strat pickup covers so it look different…
Anyway, does it mess up the sound, or make difference?
Hi! In this case, you are replacing plastic pickup covers that expose the pole pieces with the same pieces, just different color. You will not be changing the sound whatsoever. If you need guidance with the modification, please see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhNVNoCayylKqC1Hz0kscbrty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081114082743AAni9cl , ignoring the pickup replacement references. Best regards, Dana

I play a lot of blues like SRV, buddy guy, john mayer, eric clapton kind of music, I don’t need to be able to hold a lot of distortion i just need to have enough to hold a good crunch. Which do you think would suit me best
I’ve got the Texas Specials in my Strat too. They really are impressive and versitile.
Their secret is you can dial them back via the volume pot for a more laid back, traditional Strat tone, without losing your highend. Then with the twist of a knob you can get a screaming, single coil, snarl only surpassed by maybe a P-90.
They’re pretty awesome!
Thats my take on things.
